Proximal focal femoral deficiency comprises a group of conditions with varying severity. Most radiologists are familiar with the disease when manifested by aplasia of the femoral head, but the entire femur may be hypoplastic. 50 % of cases are associated with fibular hemimelia. Treatment is variable depending on the degree of aplasia, but iliofemoral fusion, prosthesis placement, leg lengthening, and contralateral epiphysiodesis are employed.
